It may sound like something out of science fiction, but a new piece of technology, named MyndHub, could soon allow you to charge gadgets around your home with the power of your mind.

The firm behind the device, MyndPlay, was originally conceived to provide brain training through brainwave EEG software to help people who suffer with mental health issues.

Their new technology will help users to train their brain whilst also controlling their devices around their homes.

The headset automatically begins streaming ‘live focus data’ once worn, and after connection to an electrical, mechanical or connected home device via USB, the user can cause it to react to their mind mental focus in real-time.

The company explained: “With adjustable thresholds and filters the user can make the MyndHub turn things on and off, power devices, race cars, fly drones, control lighting or even play music and sounds based on their levels of focus, calm and mood.

“It can help you meditate by using your connected home or Alexa as your feedback loop so you can track your level of meditation in real-time; or users can create and have fun with their brains by making things move, fly, spin and react to the power of the brain as a real world super power – true telekinesis technology.”

Thresholds can be set on the headset, such as setting the device so it will start charging your phone when you get to a certain focus level, or turn off your device when you are calm.

The device is still in its early stages and is set to be launched on Kickstarter from next month (March 2020)
