The British Private Equity Awards, sponsored by research firm unquote, was attended by over 340 delegates from the financial services sector.

Capital investment firm Scottish Equity Partners has been named Venture Capital and Growth Equity Firm of the Year at the 2017 British Private Equity Awards. The ceremony, which was hosted in London, welcomed representatives from a wide array of financial interests, ranging from HSBC to Pizza Hut.

SEP’s Managing Partner, Calum Paterson, praised the work of his peers for their achievements. Mr. Paterson said: “We are very pleased to receive these two awards, which reflect the great work that is done right across our team and by the companies we invest in.  The Unquote Awards recognise the vital role that private equity and venture capital plays in the UK economy more generally, and we congratulate all the nominees on their achievements”.

This is the sixth time SEP has won an award in the venture capital category in recent years. SEP has also been adorned with Exit of the Year trophies in the past two ceremonies. The firm won Exit of the Year in 2016 after its £1.5 billion sale of its stake in Scottish travel search company Skyscanner to NASDAQ-listed Ctrip. Similarly, SEP won the award in 2015 with the sale of its investment in energy efficiency solutions business Anesco.
