Cassie Kozyrkov, chief decision scientist at Google, has been confirmed as a speaker at Scotland’s Data Summit.
The two-day international conference, which forms part of data innovation festival DataFest19, will be held at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms on March 21-22.
In her role at Google Cloud, Kozyrkov advises teams on decision processes, AI strategy and building data-driven organisations. She previously held the position of chief data scientist in Google’s Office of the CTO.
Kozyrkov is joined on the Data Summit programme by Oxford University Economist, Dr Daniel Susskind, as well as Forbes Technology Council member, Sally Eaves.
Susskind is a Fellow in Economics at Balliol College, Oxford University, where he teaches and researches. He is the co-author of the best-selling book, The Future of the Professions, and his TED Talk on ‘the future of work’ has been viewed more than 1.3 million times.
Eaves regularly contributes to leading business, technology and academic publications and has a new book scheduled for release in 2019. She is a thought leader in emergent technology such as Blockchain, AI, Machine Learning and VR/AR, and was recently shortlisted for the UK IT Woman of the Year Business Role Model Award.
These three speakers join a line-up of renowned and respected data science leaders, innovators and researchers set to take the stage at the event. They join confirmed keynotes Christopher Wylie, the whistleblower in the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica data scandal; and Dr Sue Black OBE, Professor of Computer Science and Technology Evangelist at Durham University.
Gillian Docherty, chief executive at The Data Lab, said: “Cassie, Daniel and Sally are three high-profile speakers with exceptional backgrounds and reputations. They will undoubtedly leave their unique mark on Data Summit this year. We’re excited that our line-up for Data Summit is now complete. We can’t wait to welcome them and the rest of the speakers to Edinburgh next month.”
Also speaking at Data Summit are Liberty Vittert of the Harvard Data Science Review; researcher and broadcaster, Stephanie Hare; and Rob McCargow, director of AI at PwC. Maggie Philbin, the host of Tomorrow’s World and CEO at TeenTech, returns as host of Data Summit.
The theme for DataFest19 is collaboration and doing #datatogether. It will be a celebration of the groups, collectives, communities and teams who together have envisioned a path for the future of data and are taking steps to implement it.
