FutureX Impact Summit Returns to Glasgow to Inspire Values-led Business
Attendees at the 2019 FutureX Impact Summit will explore three key themes: A Sustainable Future, Tech for Good and People Behind the Purpose.
The second annual Impact Summit will return to Glasgow on May 15th, bringing together more than 400 entrepreneurial minds to help shape business in a digital world.
The festival, led by FutureX, is part of a global movement that aims to place values at the heart of business growth. The event will be held at Glasgow’s SWG3 venue, which will be transformed into an interactive hub for attendees, speakers and exhibitors on the day.
FutureX, which also runs Scotland’s leading startup event, Startup Summit, is working in partnership with The Hunter Foundation, Scottish Government and Triodos Bank to deliver Impact Summit, which will act as the closing event of the national CAN DO Fest.
In 2018, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon opened Impact Summit by launching the Scotland CAN B initiative.
This year’s focus will be the challenges of business in an ever-changing global environment, exploring key themes that include: Tech For Good, People Behind the Purpose and A Sustainable Future.
Scotland’s Finance Secretary, Derek MacKay MSP will speak about Scotland’s vision for building an inclusive economy while other speakers such as Celia Hodson, founder of Hey Girls, and German Bencci, Organiser of Code Your Future, will feature.
Hodson, an award-winning social entrepreneur founded Hey Girls to develop a buy-one-give-one model to help tackle period poverty. Code Your Future helps support refugees and underprivileged individuals to become developers.
Bruce Walker, co-founder of FutureX, commented: “At Impact Summit 2019, it won’t be business as usual. In one of Glasgow’s coolest venues, we’re challenging the status quo celebrating the individuals who are using entrepreneurship to transform society.
“This is an open call to social innovators from the private, public and voluntary sectors to join us at Impact Summit and help us build an exciting and inclusive future.”
