Scottish Firms Chosen for London Stock Exchange Group ELITE Programme
Seven firms, including Incremental Group, will make up the first cohort of the ELITE Scotland programme.
Seven companies have joined the first exclusively Scottish cohort of ELITE, the London Stock Exchange Group’s (LSEG) international business support and capital raising initiative.
The Scottish cohort is the first initiative of its kind for ELITE in the UK and builds upon the existing strong contingent of Scottish firms in the global ELITE community; an esteemed group that includes BrewDog, Skyscanner and M Squared Lasers.
The seven firms involved include tech firms Incremental Group, Cutitronics, Encompass and Systal, as well as Ocean Kinetics, Glencairn Crystal and CCL Logistics. The new companies represent a diverse set of businesses from across a range of sectors; from enterprise technology solutions to industrial engineering.
The initiative is being launched in collaboration with Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to support the growth of Scotland’s ambitious companies.
Celebrating the launch of ELITE Scotland, LSEG CEO David Schwimmer, ELITE CEO Luca Peyrano and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon welcomed the chief executives of seven Scottish firms to open trading in London on Tuesday.
Commenting on the launch, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “Scotland’s business community is dynamic and innovative, and the Scottish Government will continue to play our part in supporting its long-term success, including helping it to address the challenges posed by Brexit.
“London Stock Exchange Group’s global ELITE programme has helped many companies around the world to secure funding, succeed and grow – including some from Scotland such as BrewDog and Skyscanner.”
LSEG CEO, David Schwimmer added: “London Stock Exchange Group is pleased to be supporting ambitious entrepreneurial Scottish businesses through ELITE. By providing these high-growth companies with the skills, networks and access to capital, ELITE helps companies reach their next stage of growth and compete on a global stage.
“ELITE Scotland builds on the Group’s commitment to Scotland’s businesses and the immense talent and potential they offer to provide the innovation, jobs and economy of the future.”
Scottish firms will benefit from ELITE through its extensive business support and mentoring network, as well as education and access to global investors. The initiative will also feature tailored events, training and a mentorship network in Scotland.
Neil Logan, Incremental Group CEO, said: “Participation in ELITE offers Incremental Group a unique opportunity to learn first-hand how high growth businesses have overcome the kind of challenges we foresee on our journey. It is also a privilege to be part of the first Scottish cohort.”
