DIGIT Welcomes New Staff Writer
DIGIT appoints a new full-time staff writer as part of the company’s plans for expansion in 2018.
As DIGIT enters its second year of operation, the company has expanded its editorial team, with the appointment of Dominique Adams as a full-time staff writer.
The appointment enables DIGIT to expand its editorial output and continue to grow reader numbers over the course of 2018.
Dominique brings extensive experience in editorial, marketing and social media to the team, having worked across multiple roles in the UK and China. Dominique was the English Chief Editor of Focus on Dalian magazine, planning researching and writing original articles. She has also worked with UK companies including video production firm, LA Media, online education provider, the Interactive Design Institute and organic craft beer producer, the Black Isle Brewery in marketing and social media roles.
Launched in February 2017, DIGIT has grown to become Scotland’s largest digital technology news channel, ending the year with a monthly readership of 50,000. The company is now planning to build on this, with the introduction of new features and a more inclusive approach, to ensure it covers the whole of Scotland’s rapidly evolving digital technology sector.
Ray Bugg, the founder and managing director of DIGIT, said: “There’s a large – and growing – appetite for news and updates on Scotland’s tech sector. From the vibrant start-up scene, through to the biggest multinational corporations, there’s a huge amount happening in Scotland, but not a great deal of visibility. DIGIT has changed that and provided a platform for every company to get out in front of the industry and talk about themselves and the issues facing the sector as a whole.
“Dominique brings not only her editorial experience but a real understanding of SEO and social media which will help us to reach an even greater number of people and really establish DIGIT as the technology news source for the whole of Scotland. We’re pleased to welcome her to the team and look forward to even greater things in 2018.”
Brian Baglow, the editor of DIGIT, said: “We have big plans for the editorial side of DIGIT in 2018. We want to get out and speak to more companies, introduce more regular features and make DIGIT the go-to site for everything to do with digital technology in Scotland.
“I’m really looking forward to an amazing 2018 and I’m very happy to have Dominique on board to help make everything more awesome.”
Dominique told DIGIT: “I’m delighted to join such an exciting company at a crucial point in its growth. I’m looking forward to meeting all of the companies, founders, entrepreneurs and agencies working in Scotland’s digital technology sector and helping to show the world what’s happening here.”
