Connecticut’s $5 Million Global Venture Challenge comes to Scotland

VentureClash aims to speed Digital Health, Fintech, InsureTech and IoT innovations to market by awarding capital to the most promising early-stage companies. Recognising that it takes more than money to succeed, their $5 million global business competition also includes access to a critical network of customers, investors, mentors and talent.

Director of Investments at Connecticut Innovations and VentureClash organiser Douglas Roth is visiting Edinburgh on Friday 5th of May to promote VentureClash, Connecticut’s $5 million global venture challenge, and to seek high-growth companies that are ready to expand sales and operations to the U.S.

In its second year, VentureClash will attract promising early-stage companies from across the globe that are advancing disruptive solutions in sectors that impact how we work and live: Financial Technologies, Digital Health, Insurance Technologies, and the Internet of Things.

Applications are open now through June 9. The competition culminates with the top ten companies invited to a live pitch event in October hosted by Yale University. The winning company will receive a $1.5 million investment award, two-second place winners will receive $1.0 million investment, and two runners-up will receive $0.5 million investment. In addition, the companies will receive support and access to corporate partners that will help to launch and accelerate the U.S. expansion from here in Connecticut.
